Overdraft amount
New teams start with $75,000 in their finances and then get $50,000 per week for the first seven weeks.
After that the newbie income is cut and you're on your own, balancing your budget with income from matches and player sales.
This gradual income is intended to ease the strain of finances from new teams over the first few weeks of existence, preventing you from blowing all of your money in one go whilst you learn the financial side of the game. Your money can be used in a variety of ways to help the team progress, such as hiring staff, signing players, or increasing the capacity of the ground.
The bank will give you an overdraft facility up to $350,000.
If you exceed that level at the time of your countries weekly financial update then the Bank will give you 5 logins to get back below the threshold. If you fail, then you will be declared bankrupt and lose your team!
Although there is the large overdraft facility available, you can only use the first $150,000 to buy players with.
Once below that level, you will not be allowed to buy players.
When determining your balance for this purpose, the bank will be looking not only at the state your balance will be in come the next finance update - they will also take into account any players that you currently have bids on and/or players that you are selling and have received offers for.
